Exhibition about Andy Warhol at Artipelag 2016
Working with Andy Warhol can be challenging concerning both image rights and clichés. This exhibition though was no cliché exhibition but a critical look at the legacy of one of the world's most recognizable aesthetics. Showcasing his influence in modern lifestyle both in culture and products for the commercial market we wanted to make a strong campaign to clarify the concept and be recognizable. This resulted in making our own Brillo-boxes as a conceptual curatorial piece with the authentic Warhol quote "In the future all department stores will become museums and all museums will become department stores".
To emphasize Warhols influence in culture I made a interactive music room with the story of Warhol's influence in music with Spotify-playlists and record sleeves designed by the artist. His predictions on social media and that "everyone will be famous for fifteen minutes" was conceptualized in a video interview booth where visitors were interviewed by Warhol's questions he asked the celebrities of his time.
Most popular was the Photo Booth which made our most successful social media campaign where visitors could get their Warholesque photo print and where offcourse all over Instagram that summer.
